Scissorhands Salon & Boutique Launches in Douglas with FREE Art Exhibit

DOUGLAS, GA – A new hair styling establishment, Scissorhands Salon & Boutique, is opening in downtown Douglas. Owner and local artist Shanda Griffin is hosting a pre-open event and art exhibit to launch her new salon.

The pre-open event and art exhibit will be held at the salon on Saturday, March 31, 2012, 5:00 – 9:00pm. There will be live music, complimentary refreshments, featured art from local artists across South Georgia, and an opportunity to win free services and products from the salon. Attendance is not required to win; register online for opportunity to win without attending. There is no cover or entrance charge for this event.

The event is expected to have a large turnout and Griffin hopes it will be a great opportunity for her to celebrate her grand opening with everyone and to meet other community members with an appreciation of art, fashion, and hair.

"I want everyone to come by for the celebration, and I want everyone to have a chance to check out my salon before it opens," says Griffin, “we have a lot of great jewelry and fashion finds in our boutique and I want everyone to get a chance to enjoy it all!”

Scissorhands Salon & Boutique will be a full service hair care and styling salon with additional services including manicures, nail art, make-up, waxing, and more. They will offer a large variety of unique jewelry and gifts, all available at www.ScissorhandsBeauty.com.

The salon is located at 229 North Madison Avenue in Douglas, next to Video Warehouse and across from the Brian Street Gym, and will open after the final inspection, expected within two weeks. They will announce the opening on their Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/scissorhands.salonandboutique.

Scissorhands Salon & Boutique will be managed by Griffin and her mother Lavonda Adkins. Griffin, who is also the creative mind behind the accessory line Catastrophique (www.catastrophique.org) will serve as lead stylist. Adkins, with previous business management experience, will oversee operations as general manager of the salon.

The salon is being marketed by Brandon J. Carver, long-time friend of Griffin, and owner of iAdministrative Internet Marketing, and website editor for the salon.
